'(Could you give me another life on these same banks?)`, wrote arguably the greatest Malayalam lyricist Vayalar Rama Varma. In these lines, Vayalar captured the passion and dreams of an entire community, a community that loves and senses its homeland, celebrates its traditional festivals and tends to show togetherness when away from home!
Blessed with this innate sense of togetherness, Nihonkairali, the Japan malayali community, aims at curtailing any cultural and social alienation of Japanese malayalis. The main objective of this organization is to provide a non-political forum to bring together the Japanese malayalee community and strengthen the common bonds of culture, tradition and way of life.
Nihonkairali, established a couple of decades ago with a small group of approximately 20 members, has now grown into an organization with more than 500 members.
The main activities of Nihonkairali include organising cultural programs, family get-together, picnics and celebrating major festivals of Kerala.
Most recently Nihonkairali along with GRIP Kerala, arranged a grand `Kerala Festival` for creating cultural, artistic and social uniqueness and give resilience and understanding towards Japanese culture with which we have to co-exist and interact.
